Almost All Aston Martin DB11s Are Being Recalled

The Aston Martin DB11 has been recalled for an issue related to its Daimler-sourced power steering rack.

According to Reuters, the DB11 is fitted with the Daimler-made steering column that forced the recall of over 1 million Mercedes-Benz vehicles in 2017. Faulty wiring and insufficient grounding on the column may cause the driver’s side airbag to inadvertently deploy.

An Aston Martin spokesperson confirmed the DB11 is now involved in the recall, telling Reuters it will “address an issue with the DB11 steering column upper,” shortly.

A significant number of DB11s, 3,873 cars, are involved in the recall. No Aston Martin customers have experienced an unintended airbag deployment, and the automaker assures customers the work will be completed in just two hours. The costs will also be covered by Aston Martin, of course.

The automaker will reach out to owners of affected models in the near future.
