2014 Fiat 500L Recalled for Transmission Troubles

Fiat is recalling 19,500 500L vehicles due to a problem with the transmission that is affecting its shifts.

In many cases, the transmission will not allow the driver to shift out of park, while affected transmissions have also been having problems with shifting. In some cars, the transmission may not receive, or will be slow to receive an order to shift.

Chrysler will contact consumers and issue a software fix that will resolve the issue, though the brand says that about 200 cars “may require shift-module replacement to ensure hardware-software compatibility.”
