Honda CR-V Gains New Sport-L Trim, But Increased Pricing For 2024
Too hot? Too cold? Honda’s newest CR-V trim might be just right.
Sitting between the topmost gas-only EX-L trim and the range-topping Sport Touring trim, the Sport-L will appeal to buyers who want a CR-V hybrid with more options than standard but don’t need everything that comes with the topmost trim. For example, the Sport Touring is AWD only, whereas the Sport-L can be had in FWD or AWD.
The Sport-L is still well-equipped, though. Given its “L” moniker, the Sport-L has leather seats, a power liftgate, a power passenger seat, and more. Also, since it’s available in FWD guise, the Sport-L’s fuel economy will touch 40 MPG.
With the introduction of the Sport-L, Honda has simultaneously announced pricing for the 2024 Honda CR-V. Prices are up, with the gas-powered models experiencing the biggest hike. Including destination, the LX model jumps $1,095, now starting at $30,795. The EX and EX-L add $950 to their prices, now starting at $33,305, and $35,955 respectively. The Sport Touring gets the smallest increase, a mere $400, bringing its new price to $40,795. Thus, the Sport-L’s $37,645 slots in nicely between the EX-L and Sport Touring.
Honda says that the hybrid model makes up more than 50% of sales of the new CR-V.
