Hyundai's N Sub-Brand Will Add N Sport Models and Accessories

Hyundai is putting a focus on performance and it all begins in North America with the Veloster N.

The 275-horsepower hot hatch made its debut at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show and it’s just the start for Hyundai N. The Korea automaker’s performance division is led by Albert Biermann, who was previously the vice president of engineering for BMW’s M Division. So it may not come as a surprise that Hyundai will take a similar approach as BMW M by offering N Sport models and accessories in the future.

Speaking to Car and Driver, Biermann did confirm a middle trim will be created called N Sport, but don’t expect them to get “a different engine, bigger brakes, or a whole new suspension or axles.” But rather they will be tuned “for a more sporty driving experience.” The package may also include different tires than what’s normally offered on the standard models. Naturally there will be some changes to the exterior and interior, and Biermann confirmed that N Sport could be used for any model in Hyundai’s lineup, even if it doesn’t have a high-performance N variant.

For now, the Hyundai Veloster R-spec will co-exist with an N Sport trim if Hyundai chooses to go that direction. Biermann however did say, “The future will tell if that makes sense.”

The Hyundai Veloster N is scheduled to arrive dealerships later this year.

Honda,Acura,Toyota,Lexus,Nissan,Infiniti ALL LOOK ALIKE AND THEIR "QUALITY" IS NOT AS GOOD AS HYUNDAI'S IS!...BECAUSE HYUNDAI MANUFACTORS ITS OWN STEEL WHICH IS HOW THEY ARE ABLE TO CONTROL WEIGHT AND OTHER ASPECTS/AREAS!!!!!...None of the Japanese manufacturers does any of these things and NONE OF THEM HAVE A CAR THAT'S AS CAPAPABLE AS THE NEW VELOSTER, VELOSTER-N!!!!!
