McLaren 570S Wins 2017 AutoGuide.com Reader's Choice Exotic Car of the Year Award

It’s not a Ferrari or Lamborghini that has been named AutoGuide.com’s 2017 Reader’s Choice Exotic Car of the Year, it’s a McLaren.

As the first model to arrive in the U.S. as part of McLaren’s “Sports Series” of vehicles, the McLaren 570S features a familiar 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with 562 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. That’s good enough to take the exotic from zero-t0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 204 mph. Perhaps what makes the McLaren 570S so attractive is its sub-$200,000 price tag, offering supercar performance while competing with the likes of the Porsche 911 Turbo in terms of price. The British automaker has really impressed with its offerings in recent years, and the future looks bright for the nameplate.

With eight different vehicle categories voted for in this year’s 2017 Reader’s Choice Awards, Acura took home the coveted title of Reader’s Choice Car of the Year. Chevrolet earned itself two Reader’s Choice wins for the Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport as the Reader’s Choice Sports Car of the Year, while the Chevrolet Bolt was named Reader’s Choice Green Car of the Year. The Reader’s Choice Luxury Car of the Year honors goes to the Lincoln Continental. In the Reader’s Choice Utility Vehicle of the Year, the Mazda CX-9 grabbed top honors, while the Reader’s Choice Luxury Utility Vehicle of the Year was the Jaguar F-Pace. The Ford F-150 Raptor took home Reader’s Choice Truck of the Year and the McLaren 570S earned Reader’s Choice Exotic Car of the Year.

AutoGuide.com’s annual Reader’s Choice awards are chosen by visitors to the over 600 automotive websites under the AutoGuide.com Group umbrella. With 242 million monthly pageviews the AutoGuide.com group is the largest auto audience online according to ComScore Media Metrix.
