Poll: Ford GT or Ferrari 488 GTB?
Ford and Ferrari have a motorsports rivalry that reaches back five decades to Le Mans. Today, it looks like Dearborn is rekindling its enmity with Maranello by getting back into the super-car game.
Yes, Ford is set to reintroduce its fabled GT, an exotic machine that, on paper at least, looks like it will really put the hurt on other top-tier automobiles. But Ferrari will not go down without a fight. Which do you prefer the Ford or Ferrari? Let’s explore this topic.
The GT is powered by a brand-new 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 that promises to deliver more than 600 horsepower. It’s matched to a seven-speed dual-clutch transaxle that should change gears faster than you can even think.
Aluminum and carbon fiber increase strength while simultaneously reducing weight. The former material is used in the GT’s front and rear sub-frames, the latter in its passenger compartment and structural body panels.
Ford took first, second and third places at Le Mans back in 1966 and it looks like they could do it again with this exciting new car.
In contrast, Ferrari takes a more traditional powertrain approach with its 488 GTB. For the uninitiated, that trio of letters stands for Gran Turismo Berlinetta. Underhood this lust-worthy car features a 4.0-liter turbocharged V8 that’s packs a wallop, 661 horses and 561 lb-ft of twist.
With that much oomph on tap the GTB can hit 62 miles an hour (100 km/h) in as little as 3.0 seconds, a blitz that’s enabled by a seven-speed, dual-clutch transmission.
Ensuring it steers as well as it accelerates, this Italian-exotic features magnetic dampers for excellent performance and brakes that are derived from the brand’s flagship LaFerrari model.

Ferrari for sure! And for its proven quality! If I was in the market for such a car.
Ford GT without a doubt. As a performance vehicle both are great but the Ferrari cannot be compared to the Ford GT. A car at this level should always be looked at as an asset and thus we need to look at how it will appreciate/depreciate over time. The 488 is the replacement car to the 458 which was probably one of the greatest cars ever made by Ferrari. And even as a n/a monster its depreciating quickly because many are produced. You have to be accepted by Ford to purchase a Ford GT and only a few 100 are selected for it. I also assure you that if you see both cars in real life the Ford GT blows the Ferrari out of the water in how absolutely jaw dropping it looks. The interior cabin of the Ford GT is insane embodying a feel of sitting in a GT3 car. Everybody talks about how 'cheap' american cars are but this doesnt feel like that at all. Having seen and sat in the Ford GT at the Detroit Auto Show and gone for a ride in a 488 I can say for certain that the Ford is a much more special place to be in. Not to say the Ferrari isn't a phenomenal car but the two are not comparable at all. Allowing the name of Ferrari do the talking instead of the car is just naive
