The Porsche Panamera wagon will be sold in the U.S. when the second-generation model is introduced.

Speaking to Automotive News, the CEO of Porsche Cars North America confirmed the Porsche Panamera wagon will arrive in the U.S., although he didn’t clarify when. “We have to have some patience for [the wagon] to arrive in the U.S.,” said Klaus Zellmer. “But we are confident that this car will be well received here, despite the fact that this country doesn’t really like hatchbacks or wagons.”

The Porsche Panamera wagon has been spied testing numerous times, based on the second-generation Panamera that will debut this September at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.

Following the car’s debut at the Paris Motor Show, the wagon variant will likely go on sale in Europe next year. Since the new Porsche Panamera sedan arriving dealerships in the U.S. until early next year, don’t expect to see the wagon until 2018 at the earliest.

In addition to the wagon variant, Porsche is looking at offering a five-seater variant with Zellmer saying that dealerships in the U.S. say they lose Panamera shoppers to other brands due to the model’s lack of a fifth seat.
