Jaguar E-Pace Mule Spotted Frolicking in the Snow
Arguably, crossovers are the most important vehicles on the market right now. After sitting on the sidelines for years as this craze swept the industry Jaguar is finally making a move.
The F-Pace is this British brand’s first utility vehicle. The production model was revealed at last year’s Frankfurt Motor Show with an estimated on-sale date of this spring.
But Jaguar is hard at work on anther crossover model, one that’s a little bit smaller. Allegedly called the E-Pace, this compact schlepper will likely be based on the Range Rover Evoque’s underpinnings, something that our spy photos seem to indicate.
Despite its Evoque-like profile and front end this vehicle is in fact registered as a Jaguar. Upon closer inspection it also appears to have a longer wheelbase and possibly a wider track than its Range Rover sibling.

Aluminum has been the signature material used in all recent Jaguar models. From the F-Type sports car to the XJ sedan, they’re all constructed mostly out of this lightweight metal. However, it’s uncertain whether the new E-Pace will feature this stuff. If it shares the same major structure with the Evoque it will likely be mostly made of steel. Additionally, it’s probably that only four-cylinder engines will be found on the powertrain menu.
Look for the E-Pace to make its formal debut late in 2017, possibly at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Given this timetable, it could go on sale sometime in 2018. What do you think about a smaller Jaguar crossover? Let us know in the comments section below.

There were rumors for a while that JLR was going to have an evoque that was longer than the current one. Maybe this is that car. "Registered as a Jaguar" could mean anything, given the JLR connection. Not completely convinced that this is the baby F-Pace yet. In addition, the E-Pace may be a hybrid model, which would really be exciting. Keep the news coming.
