Dodge Adds 88K Challengers to Takata Airbag Recall
Dodge has announced an expansion to its Takata airbag recall that affects about 88,000 vehicles.
The brand is calling back 2008-2010 Dodge Challenger models due to front air bags that can explode with too much force, hurling shrapnel at the vehicle’s occupants. This announcement is part of the larger Takata airbag recall which so far has affected over 30 million vehicles worldwide.

Chrysler says it will notify owners and fix the problem free of charge, though the company says that replacement parts are not currently available. Interim notices will be mailed beginning in August of this year, while a second notice will go out when the new inflators become available. Chrysler did not provide a timeline on when this might be.
