Dodge is doubling the number of paint colors available on the Viper this year.

The 2016 model will benefit from available matte paint finishes on the sports car, making over 16,000 unique paint options and 48,000 different striping combinations available to buyers.

Earlier this year, Dodge released an online configurator showing off all those paint and stripe options available, which include the “GTS” stripes that run the length of the sports car and is available on every Viper model. There’s also the “SRT” stripes that SRT and GTC buyers can opt for and to complement all the paint finishes are satin chrome or satin black instrument panel badging and fuel filler doors.

According to the American automaker, each Viper takes 145 to 160 man hours to paint, including prep work. The actual paint process takes eight hours while striping requires 18 hours of work. Matte finishes for the 2016 Dodge Viper must be sanded twice before a coat of clear is applied.

The new matte paint finishes are part of the “1 of 1” customization process now available for the Viper. In total, there are 50-million different ways to configure the 2016 Dodge Viper and orders for matte paint finishes will start this July.
