Lexus is getting ready to pull the wraps off the new 2016 RX.

This is the fourth-generation of the RX and it will be unveiled at the 2015 New York Auto Show on April 1. The teaser photo shows a small piece of the new design, which seems to be influenced by crossover coupes like the BMW X6.

The 2016 RX is expected to grow to further distance itself from its new sister vehicle, the NX. This growth may lead Lexus to offer a seven passenger version of the crossover. Weight loss thanks to aluminum in also expected.

For powerplants, the RX will likely still offer a V6 and a hybrid option, while the new turbocharged four-cylinder found in the NX is likely to be adopted as well.

An all-new suite of safety systems, known as “Toyota Safety Sense,” is also said to be included with the RX, making it the first vehicle in North America to use the setup.

Well the new NX is a winner. Motor Trend just ranked it higher than vehicles costing $15k more in its class. The RX will no doubt wow the masses.
