A Japanese sub-compact shootout mixed with a little bit of luxury and performance are on the menu this week at AutoGuide.com.

2014 Lexus ES 300h, Mike Schlee – Road Test Editor: “To begin the week I’m revisiting a car I haven’t been in for a few years now: the Lexus ES 300h. Stuffed full of technology and a highly efficient drivetrain, does it still have the right stuff in the large premium car segment?”

2015 GMC Canyon and Chevy Colorado: “Mid-week I’ll be attending a ride and drive for the new Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon. Not being a traditional truck guy, the thought of a mid-size pick-up truck has always appealed to me. Is this truck the right fit?”

2015 Lexus RC 350 “Later in the week I’ll be finally take a turn behind the wheel of a Lexus at the completely different end of the spectrum compared to the ES 300h. Yes, I’ll be starting the holiday season in Lexus’ new sports coupe, the RC 350. Is it all it’s cracked up to be? And, is it still a properly luxurious Lexus?”

Craig Cole, Associate Editor: “Is this the most stylish model in the Lexus lineup? It could be. The new RC coupe is a real looker with dramatic design and killer performance in F-guise. This week I get to spend a little time in the milder RC 350 model, which is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 that delivers 306 hp. Got any questions? Message me on Twitter @CraigCole.”

2015 Toyota Yaris, Luke Vandezande, Managing Editor: “This week it’s all about going small for me. I’m driving the 2015 Toyota Yaris to compare it side-by-side with the Honda Fit. Toyota says its city car is better insulated against road noise with more engaging handling to boot. But can it defeat the Fit? We’ll see.”

2015 Honda Fit, Sami Haj-Assaad, Features Editor: “I’ll be checking out the all new 2015 Honda Fit this week, where it’ll face off against the refreshed Toyota Yaris. Honda has kept much of its core formula the same with this model, offering a fun to drive sub-compact with lots of practicality, but can it eek out a win over the Yaris’ strong value play? Check in with us on Twitter to learn more.”
