It was a decade ago that Lamborghini first unveiled its Gallardo supercar during the Geneva Motor Show and now the brand is finally saying goodbye.

Lamborghini is expected to replace the Gallardo with a new model called the Cabrera sometime soon; AutoGuide’s spy photographers have spotted it on several occasions. By ushering the it out, the company also marks the end of a product that will live on as a turning point in its history. With 14,022 units produced over its lifetime, the Gallardo is Lamborghini’s most successful nameplate by a wide margin.

But after a decade on the market, perhaps the most remarkable part about the Gallardo is that it has remained so impressive. It represents almost half of the company’s sales since it was founded in 1963.

Part in parcel with the Gallardo’s exit, Lamborghini will also stop manufacturing models with manual transmissions, opting instead for exclusive paddle shifting.
