There’s a must-have option coming to the Dodge Challenger for 2014: the “shaker” hood.

During the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Dodge announced that it will begin offering the shaker hood on 5.7-liter HEMI-equipped Challengers. An opening in the surface allows for an air intake to poke through. As the engine runs, the intake… well, you get the picture. There will also be a “shaker” badge under the hood.

There’s more to the Challenger R/T Shaker than just the exposed bit. The car is sold with a performance-tuned suspension and the “Super Track Pak,” which adds re-calibrated steering, high-performance brake linings and better monotube shocks.

The interior is also specialized with a three-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel. There’s also a Shaker numbered plate on the dashboard and seats with and an embroidered shaker logo. The powertrain comes with a six-speed manual transmission with an aluminum pistol grip shifter. You can also go for a five-speed automatic with paddle shifters.

Dodge also announced that the package will cost $36,995 for a “well equipped” model or $37,495 with the racing stripes seen here. Expect to start seeing it in dealerships during the first quarter of next year.

Would want to see pics from above so I could see stripe better. And if you ordered it as an R/T do you get the R/T stripes also? Would they have to be black?
