Dodge Dart V6 Rumored

Rumors of a V6-powered Dodge Dart have been floated by an online enthusiast forum, citing lack of power as the main factor behind the decision.

Allpar.com is reporting that a team of engineers have been tasked with trying to fit the brand’s new 3.2-liter V6 under the hood of the Dart, though a Chrysler spokeswoman claims that the report are unfounded.

“I have no knowledge about any other engines for the Dart,” said Chrysler product PR manager, Kathy Graham in an email. “The 2.4-liter Tigershark has been very well received by both media and consumers,” she finished.

With the top-rated engine making 184 hp and 171 lb-ft of torque, Allpar suggests that the Dart could use a power boost, and that the easiest way to achieve that is through the use of a V6. Another option would be introducing more gears into the Dart which would help the 2.4-liter put its power to the ground.
