McLaren is readying the P1 supercar for production, and our spy photographers recently caught the car testing, looking exactly the same as the concept that was shown off at the 2012 Paris Auto Show.

Under the hood of the P1 is the same 3.8-liter V8 as it’s lesser 12C cousin, though with much more power. Exact power numbers are still unknown, but expect the horsepower to come in around 720. A hybrid, or regenerative braking setup is likely for the P1, and could be sourced from McLaren’s F1 race cars.

The P1’s design is as functional as it is beautiful, and is said to generate more than 1,320 lbs of downforce, the most of any other road going car.

While what we saw in Paris was technically a concept, this test car looks exactly the same, suggesting that when it reaches production, the P1’s design will not change.
