For almost a year now, we’ve been anticipating the return of Bentley to Le Mans Racing, with the possibility of racing in the GT3 category. Well, now it’s pretty official as photos of the new Bentley Continental GT3 race car has leaked ahead of its unveiling at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.

Based on the Continental GT, the race car variant probably exceeds everyone’s expectations. Simply put, it’s one mean-looking machine and we can’t wait to see it in motion out on the track. It’s got everything you’d expect from a GT3 race car – wider fenders, center-locking wheels, redesigned front and rear bumpers for aerodynamics, and a massive rear spoiler. But somehow the British automaker got it to all work with its luxury coupe.

Will it make a trip to the next 24 Hours of Le Mans? Hopefully so. What we’ll anxiously await at its official debut is what will be powering this beast, since the factory W12 is too big and too powerful for current GT3 regulations.
