To slot in between the regular Fiat 500 and the tuned up Abarth model, Fiat has just unveiled the 500 Turbo, starting at a base MSRP of $19,500.

Under the hood is the same 1.4-liter MultiAir four-cylinder found in the standard 500, except this model gets boost from a single turbocharger, twin intercoolers and sport-tuned exhaust, helping it reach an output of 135 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque. Mated to the C510 five-speed manual transmission found in the Abarth helps the power get to the wheels, while the little turbocharged engine puts out 34 percent more hp than the standard 500, and 53 percent more torque.

To keep the exterior in-line with the sporty new engine, the 500 Turbo gets larger bolder side skirts, 16-inch aluminum wheels, red brake calipers, liftgate-mounted spoiler, black-accented rear diffuser and a new nose which is pushed out by 2.7 inches to accommodate the turbocharger. Larger intakes on the nose are also present to allow more air flow to the intercoolers, located below new gloss black headlamps.

Inside, sport-style seating, leather-wrapped shift knob, silver accent stitching, and optional black on black or red on black leather seating is available, to keep the sporty roots throughout. A Beats by Dr.Dre sound system is also outfitted, using a trunk-mounted subwoofer and eight-channel 368-watt amplifier.

The car can be had for a base price of $19,500, making it one of the cheapest turbocharged cars on the market.
