2019 Acura ILX Completes Automaker's Restyled Lineup

The 2019 Acura ILX gets a completely redesigned exterior. Most noticeable, and perhaps most controversial, is the restyled front end with the automaker’s Diamond Pentagon Grille. Flanking the grille are a set of pointed LED ‘Jewel Eye’ headlights, which are joined by new triangular intake vents and narrow LED fog lights mounted low down on the fascia. Out back, the ILX gets a redesigned trunklid and new LED taillights. Models equipped with the sporty A-Spec package also get dark chrome exterior trim, a black decklid spoiler, 18-inch wheels and an exclusive Apex Blue Pearl exterior color.

Moving inside, the 2019 ILX gets redesigned front and rear seats with available contrasting piping and stitching, a power-adjustable lumbar for the driver’s seat, silver-finish dash trim with a chrome insert and a machine-finished push-button start. Interior colors include a new Espresso color, along with Graystone and Ebony. A contrasting Ebony and Red interior color with Ultrasuede inserts is available A-Spec models as well.

All 2019 ILXs will also get the AcuraWatch suite of active safety tech, which includes collision mitigation braking, forward collision warning, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise, road departure mitigation and lane departure warning. A blind spot monitoring system and rear-cross traffic alert system are available as optional extras. The compact luxury car also gets the latest version of Acura’s On Demand Multi-Use Display infotainment system with a new 7.0-inch touchscreen and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

The only powertrain will be a 201 hp 2.4-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The 2019 Acura ILX will begin arriving at Acura dealers in the United States in October of this year. Pricing has yet to be announced but should be released shortly.
