Aston Martin might be looking to fill its lineup with even more DB models.

According to a recent report, the British automaker has applied for trademarks on DB10 through DB14 as it prepares to reveal its next DB model. The successor to the DB9, which will likely go on sale in 2016, will be powered by a twin-turbo AMG V8 engine and will feature new styling. The actual nameplate has yet to be determined according to Aston Martin’s design director Marek Reichman, but it will “definitely be a DB.”

Rumors suggest that the new model will be called the DB10 though the first trademark application was for the DB14 nameplate. It is also believed that some company executives prefer on retaining the DB9 nameplate for the new car. History shows that the automaker prefers to move forward with its numbering to emphasize that the design, performance and technology is a new generation.
